Casa en Zipolite

This is an experimental dwelling set in the densely vegetated hills of Zipolite, Oaxaca. The house sits on a triangular concrete base and is defined by a robust concrete skeleton with infill elements of brick, reclaimed wood, and mosquito netting, as if it were some repurposed utilitarian infrastructure. On the exterior of the volume, a concrete-and-metal staircase wraps around the vertical building, offering views of the surroundings. From the upper levels you can watch the sun rise over the mountains in the morning, and then set in the afternoon over the Pacific Ocean.
